Abstract
This article discusses the origins and textual transmission of the so-called Ókindarkvœði, an anonymous poem published in Olafur Davíðsson's Islenzkarþulur og þjóðkvœði (1898-1903). The article reveals that MS NKS 3315 II 4to contains further information about the poem. Gísli Brynjólfsson recorded the poem in this manuscript from a version recited by his mother Guðrún Stefánsdóttir from Möðruvellir in Hörgárdalur. The article argues that Björg Pétursdóttir of Kirkjubær in Hróarstunga composed the poem for her daughter Sigríður.
